Well, we thought we were making progress. Full steam ahead! NOT!!!! The footings have been dug on the pad site, the road has construction mats that have been put down under A LOT of rock to make sure that everything is sturdy enough for the concrete trucks, the cement company had come out to the land looked at the road, and everything was good to go for pouring the foundation on Wednesday, and.....SURPRISE!!!! The cement company came out again, today, for an unknown reason, started probing around the road, and told us that there were several things wrong, so they could not pour tomorrow. REALLY?!? You just told us YESTERDAY that everything was great, and we were ready to pour cement. So, I'm going to be really honest in saying that my husband was beyond TICKED!!! Let's just say that we found out that they had been offered a better, higher paying job, and needed to put us off for a few days so that they could take this other job. Seriously? This was the way they were trying to do it. Basically, in the nicest way possible (lol) Travis told them to get off of our property, and we would find someone else to do the work. Instead of being honest about what was going on, they wanted to just put us off until we were "worth" their time. It reminds me of girlfriend/boyfriend situations where they only see the other person when it's convenient for them or they don't have something better to do. We were all set in this being "THE DAY", the day that we would see something more than dirt on the pad site, the day that our home was actually being started, we would have a floor! Travis and several of our friends even took the day off of work to go oversee the project and help. Well, not anymore! In sharing all of this, we did find a new reputable company that was more than happy to have our business and will be pouring on Saturday. We know that this project will get done, eventually, and we have to realize that there will be frustrating moments, but in the end, it's going to be totally worth it! Hopefully, I will be able to post more on Saturday, and there will cement being poured on the site. Y'all say some prayers!!!!
